The famous “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” is a well respected art institution in the very centre of Berlin and definitively one of Germany’s most iconic venues for projects breaking through artistic boundaries.
The international reputation of the House of World Cultures is based on its innovative and experimental presentations of the fine arts, dance, theatre, film, literature and music as well as its international conferences. After having set itself the task of presenting non European cultures and engaging them in a public discourse with European cultures, it is now generously opening its gates for the world of characters to take over.
With its state of the art auditorium, the main exhibition hall, additional theatre and conference spaces and a wide, inviting foyer the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, lovingly dubbed “pregnant oyster” by the Berliners, is definitely the perfect host for all of Pictopia’s festival activities…
